SPIGF 2025: New Horizons and Technologies of the Gas Industry
On October 7 through 10, 2025, Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg is hosting the 14th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, hereinafter referred to as SPIGF, which is one of the key events of the industry both in Russia and in the world in general.
During the years of its existence, the Forum has become a respected and reliable platform to discuss collaboration issues of the gas industry. SPIGF is a place to make important partnership agreements, which result in launch and implementation of new large-scale initiatives.
Among the Forum participants are representatives of federal and regional authorities; managers, chief engineers and technologists of Russian and international gas companies; representatives of leading Russian industrial companies, specialised unions and associations, as well as young specialists and students of industry-oriented universities.
In 2025, the convention program of SPIGF will include over 110 events. There will be conferences, round table discussions and seminar-meetings. Among the technical areas of the program are geological exploration, gas production and transportation, gas distribution and consumption, underground storage, technologies and products of natural gas processing. Industry-wide tracks will be devoted to international cooperation with the countries of the CIS, Middle East, Asia, Africa, sustainable development and technological sovereignty, new tools for digital transformation and automation of the gas industry and other topical issues.
The main event of the convention program will be the Natural gas market in 2025–2035: new contours in a fast-moving environment plenary session. Every year, directors of the biggest Russian and global companies take part in the plenary session during SPIGF. This event is not just a place where key players of the industry meet. This is a location for communication, a meeting where fundamental concepts are produced that the future of the gas sector depends on. There, they talk about challenges on the table and far-reaching technologies, as well as economic models and geopolitical factors that have influence on global supplies and consumption of natural gas.
For the first time, the Forum's convention program includes a Strategic Session dedicated to the development of the continental shelf. During the Strategic Session, the participants will have a chance to have an open dialogue and discuss certain hot matters, including implementation of the shelf based projects and fundamental challenges that companies face during infrastructural development and exploitation in offshore fields.
As usually, the Youth Day will take place during SPIGF to give a chance for the heads of global oil and gas corporations to meet gifted students from the relevant universities and talk with them about the prospects of the gas industry’s development. In 2025, the project is entering a new stage of development and transforming into the Natural Gas & Accelerator (NG&Accelerator) International Acceleration Program.
An extensive exposition covering technologies, equipment and associated services will be arranged in the Expoforum’s premises, which will include several exhibitions: InGAS Stream 2025 – Innovations in the Gas Industry International Specialised Exhibition, Import Substitution in the Gas Industry Corporate Exposition, ROS-GAS-EXPO International Specialised Exhibition of Natural Gas Industry and Technology for Gas Facility, RAO/CIS Offshore 2025 International Exhibition and Conference for Oil and Gas Resources Development of the Russian Arctic and CIS Continental Shelf.
In 2024, SPIGF was attended by more than 34,000 participants from 54 countries. Its convention program included 110 events, which covered 19 topics. Thematic sessions, conferences and round table discussions were joined in by about 800 speakers: professionals of the sector, including officials of federal and regional regulatory agencies, relevant associations and unions, directors, senior and technological engineers, scientists, as well as emerging specialists and students of industry-oriented universities. At the area of 50,000 sq. m over 600 companies showcased their scientific research and technology projects along with innovative solutions designed for the gas sector.
