REFINEMENT OF THE MODEL OF RESERVOIR STRUCTURE IN BASEMENT OF WHITE TIGER FIELD OF MEKONG DEPRESSION OF THE SOUTH VIETNAM AS THE BASIS OF EFFECTIVE DEVELOPMENT OF RESERVES

Abstract

White Tiger field is well-studied by 3D seismic survey and drilling. Its big oil pool in the basement has been providing main production in Vietnam. Recovering the reserves may keep production at stable level in the future. As observed, the highest productivity is related to granites, which have been identified by gamma-ray method due to their high radioactivity. Granites also developed in the Northern and Southern blocks at depth deeper than 4200 m TVDss, overlapped with diorites and granodiorites. To discover oil in the traps it is suggested to drill exploratory wells in northern and southern blocks with TD at depth of 5000 m TVDss.
